The most influential people I have ever seen on stage as regards music are Marianne Faithful, Kraftwerk, the Orb and Van Morrison. Ms Faithful was probably the best doing superb versions of Working Class Hero and Sister Morphine. I know somebody who whilst they were just a small touring band saw U2 in a pub. He also saw Dr Feelgood which I was green about. I know people who saw the Albert hall gig where Dylan went electric. Also I remember talking to my mother about the Rolling Stones and she said she saw them, I said where and she said Hyde Park. I think that takes the Piss. I remember going to see Kelis and came away with aching balls. Also I remember going to see Terry Callier who is amazing though it was a shit atmosphere. I love live music prefering it to listening to cds. I also went green when somebody I worked for said he saw Can circa 1970 in a small gig at University. The same person who saw U2 also saw the Sex Pistols the Clash and The Stranglers et al in the seventies Jammy bastard. The first gig I ever went to was to see the Sugercubes with Bjork at Brixton. There is something about live music it is what the Welsh would describe as a we was there moment. I also met somebody from liverpool who said she saw the Beatles at the cavern club but the entire poulation of Merseyside claim to have done that.
