The play was a sort of a comment on a performers life. There was a lot of nudity involved. Which I actually found slightly embarassing. The actress involved appeared nude twice, once at the beginning and once at the end I ended up thinking enough already. It was fairly typical modern experimental theatre lots of different media and at one point she was hypnotized and ate an onion. The trouble with yer actual performers commenting on the art of acting is they end up being fearful of the audience. Actors always seem to get round to feeling rejected. I don't know if it was very brave or very self indulgent or a mixture of both. The play was called Me Me Me. I thought actually at the end when the performer was nude the audience seemed to accept her for who she was but then audience tend to be forgiving. I have only ever walked out of a performance once and that was a Japanese film. It was at the ICA and it was a double bill of an extremely surreal Yakuza films. The film was a total head doer . I talked with this gay guy in the interval and he was saying the director would make them in a week or something. I remember going to see Andrei Rublev at the ICA it was very long, my arse was agony by the end of it. Those Russian epics are a bit much sometimes. I also went to see A time to live and a time to die there, same problem with the seats. I had a friend who saw the Full Length version of Abel Gance's Napolean at the NFT it apparently is something like 21 hours long. I prefer something like the Railway Children.
