Im getting really tired of this "politically correct" Bullshit.
Carlos Guillen, Manager of the Chicago White Sox is coming under heavy fire since making a remark about Chicago newspaper reporter Jay Matriotti, calling him a "fag". Now every reporter and analyst is trying to score "points" with the gay community by bashing Guillen, and almost asking for his head on a platter.
I know the word fag is viewed as deregatory by the gay community. I know this, but I also know that 90% of the people who are taking shots at Guillen are not gay, meaning they have without a doubt used the term at home, or to friends.
Look, if the word offends you, I apologize. But serioulsy, the word has been used since I was in elementary school to describe someone you percieve to be not-so-masculine or weak. For instance, I know Derek Jeter is not a homosexual. I know hes a man whore who has nailed everyone from Mariah Carey to the chick from Fast and the Furious. But, I see him, and I say "What a fag!' Because he acts and talks like a little sissy boy. It has nothing to do about which hole or who he puts his cock in.
My GF's cousin is always at my house, and he is gay. Ive lived with bisexual men in the past. And ive heard them describe people as being "fags" if they are over the top feminine.
So my point is, I AM NOT RACIST OR A BIGOT IN ANYWAY. What I cannot tolerate is the country we live in, with this supposed freedom of speech, can turn on a guy for making the same comments most people make at home. If you are gay, and find Guillens comments offensive, than by all means, make your statement. But if you are not gay, than you are clearly only using this to get yourself more air time, and to make you look like your a perfect human being. And thats bullshit.

vervain______:
a big term used when i was in elementary school was queer. "that's so queer!!!"(of course in r.i. there is no "r" pronunciation.) and as a youngster, and teenager, i used it alot. now, being older, i have dropped certain words i used then from my vocab. i don't use these words in public or at home. i think many of them sound ignorant and offensive. i too have had gay friends. i am sensitive to the way they might sound to others. there are many to chose from in the english language. just my opinion. does this make me any better than someone that might use them? no, but it is a choice that i am comfortable with.
