Listening to: The Kinks - Come Dancing
Ah, i'm feeling good.
Tomorrow is my last day at my contracting gig downtown. Starting a new gig next week in downtown Decatur. Sweet! I had a funny conversation with a project manager i've been working with this evening. Went something like this:
Me: Oh yeah, are you guys ever going to have a site in Spanish like it says in the FAQ? [actually the FAQ says there IS a site in Spanish]
PM: Yeah yeah yeah. We got a bid on that. Wait! Doesn't all the code have to be changed to Spanish??
Me: Ummm... The code?
PM: Yeah, like all the functions and stuff.
Me: Actually... No. [give him a funny look] Just the text on the page would need to be changed...
PM: OH, yeah. Right. No problem.
Ok, maybe you had to be there. I hope somebody understands what he was asking. Kinda reminds me of when i was a little kid and i though you could change English words to Spanish by adding O's and so forth. Alright, maybe that's a stretch.
I'm gonna miss conversations like that. I kinda hate to make fun of that guy. He went on for like 20 minutes about how much I'm helped out the project, etc., etc. After offering to be a reference he told me he was going to write some crazy "To whom it may concern" recommendation letter for me tomorrow. Um, thanks dude!
Whew. What else.
I saw a few things after work i'd like to share:
1. A youngish, red-bearded guy lying on the sidewalk next to Piedmont Avenue. I can't explain what combination of things made this so strange, but he was out in the bright sun and there was shade nearby. Also, he was lying on his arm with his hand sticking up in the air in the most uncomfortable looking position imaginable. Bizarre.
2. Just down the street from that (North Avenue) I saw somebody in a motorized wheelchair cruising down the sidewalk. Not so strange, you say? On their lap were like 5 banana boxes, at least 2 boxes going well above their head. Cruising. Looked like they were ready to loose a box at any moment. Strange.
3. Whole Foods. I saw this, uh, large breasted woman walk out in some sort of crazy over-all dress thing, I'm watching her pass and i realize there's nothing under those overalls. You should have seen her strut by. She must have been on her way to some booty shaking club or something. Jesus, i hope so.
Damn, i need pictures. Of all this stuff. And my new "Computer Operator" belt buckle.
Is anyone still reading? Good lord. Longest entry ever. And i didn't even get to talk about the disco they setup in the lobby of my office building last night. And the mechanical bull!
Ha! Who says office jobs are dull?
Goodnight
