THOSE PIXELS

@katherine you are a gem. Even more so now that I've found your YouTube video about not only page 3 in the UK but also for speaking out about what feminism actually is. You are such a light in this world.

There are primarily three things about modern, third-wave feminism I disagree with. 1) Their attempts to supress free speech because it's something they don't like. 2) The concept of "The Patriarchy." 3). The wage gap.  I agree that if men should be able to go around topless, so should women. And that sexualization is something that is in the mind. But you've heard of the concept of The Male Gaze, where some feminists think that if a man even looks at them in what they consider to be an erotic way, it's tantamount to sexual assualt. I always hear the same feminists say they should be able to go around topless, because breasts aren't inherently sexual, yet at the same time decrying "the male gaze." How do these women even know what a man was thinking just because he happened to look at them?  A gaze isn't inherently sexual, no matter what the reciever would infer. I see this double standard time and time again.  Is there really a network of men, the world over conspiring to oppress women? No feminist has been able to prove that "The Patriarchy" actually exists. Imagine if someone went on television and replaced "patriarchy" with the "Jews" and said that Jews were conspiring to keep everyone down. You never see any concrete examples, just people throwing the word around.  Then they will usually say something like, "But it's institutional and men don't even know they're doing it!" which is just as superflous. There are compelling arguments about why the wage gap exists. It exists, but is it really because women are oppressed or because they generally make different choices? I think it's because of the latter.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIomA2MQNI4 definitely check out Camille Paglia in this video
