I was feeling kinda the same a few months ago, I hated the way my body looked and it coincided with being freelance and not really doing anything with my spare time. I wasn't putting on a massive amount of weight but it was very slow and gradual and if I didn't do something eventually I'd end up with a gut. I have very bad food habits and food issues. I kinda had a weird logic that if I eat shit and I put barely any weight on, then if I start working out I should be able to stop the weight gaining or even drop some body fat. I started going to the gym a couple of days a week and it's become addictive. I'm now going five days a week. My motivation was really that it's the only reason I have to get out of bed most days. You don't need to lose weight but if you want to be a bit more toned then dropping body fat while gaining muscle seems to be the key. Cardio is the best for dropping body fat and weights are the best for toning and building muscle.Β
