I love this picture it's beautiful! I saw a shuttle take off the last time I was in FL and it's one of those moments in life that you'll always remember

Well, overall I have had a good week I suppose. I've been losing about 4 lbs a week and I really feel my tone improving and I have learned some cool new dance moves. I'm happy. I got the hair lasered off my pussy today, which was awesome! My puppy has gone 3 days without an accident in the house and I helped out a...

How depressingly morbid. I signed onto AIM to FTP a file to someone I'm doing a video with. I had a few old friends hop on and say hi. So we got to talking a bit. Next thing I know, I was looking through my AIM (AOL instant messenger) friends list and began to recognize how many people on that list are dead.

Weird frown Mostly...

Sorry to hear.

That's awful, Midnyte. I've been very fortunate so far, I haven't had many people close to me die so far. Lots of hugs to you if you need them.

One of old friends came over on Sunday night. We have been friends for about 12 years or so but we have not seen one another for the last 4 because he was away at school or I was away. We stay in touch by phone weekly though.

Anyway, he had a bad break up a while back and was telling me how it bothered...

I've been reconnecting with an old friend lately too, as per my blog. As for keeping the ashes of a loved one in your home...I dunno how I feel about it, but it's probably not as unusual as your friend thinks.
akemiunfolding:
I used to take a vial of dust to school and tell them it was my mom. It wasnt, but it was her idea before she died. She thought itd be funny.

The media bias is really pretty annoying. I'm a middle of the road free thinker for the most part, because it seems both sides of our polarized political ideologies have assholes and both have good points. It is annoying how we try to bundle ideas. Why can't I be pro gun, pro gay marriage and anti illegal immigration and pro legal abortions and pro environment?...

Thanks for your comments!

Since I posted that blog I have engaged with my silliness. I now do daft things like playing with toy soldiers (with 30 others guys) on Monday nights.

I spoke to my 26 year old chum Oliver tonigth in the pub (I'm still drunk) and his eyes lit up when I told him that my guitaring is ok, but that the silly stuff is more fun. He and I have spent too long talking about how our guitaring is great ... but the truth is it is 90% work and only 10% reward. It was nice to tell him that and see his eyes widen ... like I am the only person to give him persmission to - in his case - enjoy his hang-gliding MORE than his guitaring!

The news is just there to hold eyeballs and sell advertising. Just like the rest of the programming on the major networks. Most newsies are ignorant about gun, as well as, many/most of the other subjects they report.

We had a thread running on this law over in the Gun Owners group. I think you joined in the discussion. My stance is even if I lived in AZ, I would still get a permit for reciprocity purposes. Issues were also raised of civil lawsuits and such.

I was thinking about a class I took in school, it was about core self evaluations. Basically those tests people take when applying for jobs. The specific test I'm thinking about is the "Neutral Objects Satisfaction Questionnaire". The idea behind this test is to weed out the people who are pessimistic and will probably not be satisfied with their job.

Basically the test consists of...

My housemate recently discovered 'The Real Thing' and has been blasting Epic from her room all week, and then raped my cd collection for their other albums, so I have been up to my elbows in Mike Patton all week.
Er, figuratively of course.

I <3 that song though, and the vid i posted is my favourite version smile
indiebuddhist:
Is there an answer to the test ? If you fall into a certain % ?

My son is 17 years old. He just finished his second semester of college and took PSY101. After taking the class he asked me if he could make an appointment with a psychiatrist (the MD who diagnoses and prescribes, not the one who listens and makes behavioural adjustments) for a head check. He thought he was not focusing on school work as well as he...

Sigh, in my brain I know this. I just feel like I've put forth effort for guy #1 and if nothing comes from it... it was like months of wasted action.

Congrats on the diagnosis though. I really hope my sister will one day have the same pride you have since she's a single mom with a little boy.

i LOVE hearing anecdotes like this! good on you AND him =)

So I saw the corpse flower is blooming in Houston. I'm kind of sad I am nowhere near there, I have always wanted to smell a corpse flower, because I'm a masochist. They do have a live web cam though.

So I live in AZ, ground zero for SB1070. I have to say I'm a little perturbed by what is amounting to one sided attention the national media is giving to the situation.

I want to start off by saying, I LOVE living in Arizona. I moved here by choice and every time I leave I am happy to come back. This does not mean...

I apprecaite you taking the time and effort to blog on this issue. I agree with you. Enter legally and you are good to go. The Feds let this situation get out of hand and now the states have to take the steps to control it.
guffous:
I don't mean to start an open discussion on midnyte's blog...but IT'S NOT PROFILING!!!!! Asking for ID is perfectly legal. If you have ID from a state that doesn't require proof of citizenship that doesn't make you a suspect. It MIGHT make a candidate for an extra question. How in God's green earth does that make it profiling? How about the Irishman with a NM drivers license? You know the guy; sawed off, red haired freckled dude? How about the Chinese guy with a KS license? How about the white guy who speaks flawless English? You know, my friend from Peru who is 6.5 with reddish hair and grew up here? That's a true story.

Hogwash on profiling. Complete and total hogwash.

Wow, I just turned 34! My birthday was nothing special. It is my last week before summer classes start up. I'm a big fan of True Blood, so I decided while I had some time when I can read for fun rather than feeling guilty like I should be studying, I would read the Sookie Stackhouse series. I bought all 10 books and the between...
