It's been so long since I've had a steady and regular paying job. I've done lots of consulting gigs and small things here and there, but now, after 2 years and 16 days...I may have landed a job. And the crazy thing? I don't even know what to think!

Part of it is that while the position is similar, the...

Wow, what a bittersweet life I have led for the past 2 years. I suppose that everyone's life is just that; bittersweet. We all have ups and downs...triumphs and tragedies...that's how it works. Over that period of time though, my highs and lows have been trending towards the extremes, with my overall situation in a slow, steady decline.

Often times, my...

I hope everyone's year is off to a rockin' start...even though we're nearly half way through it!!! <HUGE GULP>

Time to go....

As they say, all good things must come to an end. While I have most thoroughly enjoyed myself here, I need to take a new direction in life and eliminate the distractions that I have allowed to interfer with my life's success. Not that this place isn't a great distraction, because believe me, it is...it's more than I...

This is a tough blog to type. My best friend, my dog, died last night. He was a great campanion for the last 9 1/2 years! People love to hear the story about how he chose me one spring evening just outside of Big Bend national park in for southern Texas. I was with my girlfriend traveling from Ft. Davis, Texas back to Austin...

Aw Yay for new fury best friends!!! That is wonderful that you adopted another dog. Although it may feel early for you, I'l bet you feel better already; especially since the pup has an amazing home with an awesome person who will share their life with them.smile

Eeeeva is well. She begins her first series of injections next Thursday so I'm a tad nervous for her but, she's a real trooper and I know she can get through it. She's just such a big baby about everything; she's like a little child that starts crying before the needle is close to the skin.

What's the pup's name?smile

Frailty of age. My neighbor is 90 years old. She stills mows her own yard and drives herself everywhere she needs to go. She's a busy body as you might expect and in everyone's business. Yesterday she came by my house in a most distraught way. Her car had given her trouble and she had a light burn out in her house. None...

Keep reminding me, K? I need it right now frown
I love your blog...my father is 83 and on a cruise in Italy right now...he can outwork any of the men I know, still, at his age. Age is a mindset for the most part...unfortunately the body works against some. I commend you for helping her and for just being her friend. smile

I co taught another motorcycle safety class this weekend. It rained, and that pretty much sucks for all, but hey....it is what is, right?

So check this shit out. We've got a couple of young ladies in the class that we're doing pretty well...long story short, both crashed...spectacularly (if that can be done in a slow speed class) and we...

Sorry for two in one day...I just got word a few hours ago that a long time friend of mine died this morning from cancer. He had bravely battled it for years, but it finally caught up with him. Like everyone says when a friend passes, he died much too young. He never had a chance to marry or have kids, or experience all...

I've spoken to a few members here and read a few things about the economy and how it's affected people. It sure has effected me! I blogged about it the other day...I've been out for nearly 11 months. I went from coat and tie, commuting to work 1200 miles away every week to sitting here in front of this keyboard firing...

I had a great experience over the weekend! All of us have had teachers in our lives, whether they have been the formal academic types, the life type, or some activity based coach or teacher. Teachers teach because they enjoying sharing knowlege and that look that students get when the "light bulb" goes off in their heads and they get it.

I spent the entire...

So here it is...my first blog on SG. I'll keep it short. Jeez, I gotta say that as bad as this economy has been, and as much of a beating as I have taken personally, I wonder why my "good" days seem to outnumber the "bad". Is it because I don't sweat the professional grind like I once did? Is it because...

Oh and do I get a special place for being your first friend???? smile
guffous:
Abso-freakin-lutely. Special billing as my very first friend! smile . I'm sure all of use (and maybe especially those of us in the geezers group) has been hit by this. Don't get me wrong; it's been tough, but my tightly wound exterior is starting to show more of what my losely knit interior is all about...and I'm happy about it! I'm not sure I want to go back to my old "life". I used to love my suits, ties and especially my shoes (shoe snob here)..now? No freakin' way. Finding a new way 'o life I am... wink
