New Tech for SG Members

If you're one of those people who is always looking for new ways to enjoy the web (and SG), check out Suicidegirls.com's new section just for us geeks: http://suicidegirls.com/technology/

According to SG ubergeek s5, SG has just added a ton of new stuff for anyone who wants to do more with their SG membership.

we've expanded our selection of RSS feeds, including feeds for your own journal, your friends and bookmarks, and all the latest comments to your own journal entries. you can syndicate them on your My Yahoo! account or read them in an RSS aggregator.

we've also added the ability to add and edit your journal entries using desktop blogging tools, like ecto or MarsEdit. these programs allow you to download and keep copies of all your own journal entries, and edit really old journal entries.

also on that page is the SG widget for any Mac user running Tiger. it requires that you're logged into SG with Safari (it shares your browser's cookies).

Enjoy!

I can't keep up the praise when you guys keep being so awesome. This is so great, but what words have not been used already. "You are the Howard Hughes of this stuff"

The only thought I can get my head around right now is that a Konfabulator widget would be really nice too, but I just installed it an hour ago so that was a more glaring omission for me. Otherwise, thank you Santas.

Agreed with member: Mike,

As much as I adore this website, it seems like it only benefits the girls (maybe), and those who spend more time on here than they probably should.

Things just got overcomplicated here people.

Rock out. FF users can check the thread linked in the story above to learn how to take advantage of the RSS feeds. I believe it's comment #10, or so, on the first page. You won't regret it (unless you suck).

If you don't understand it, don't use it. Then nothing changes for you.

However the rest of us will be wallowing in our geekery..

Oh this tickles me to no end. The RSS features will let me check up on things while in places I can't actually get on SG (work). Thank you!

Another reason that I love SG is its one of the only sites that gives Mac users more options than Windows users.
