I continue toward graduation in the art program. My new printmaking teacher is excellent. I've learned three color-process lithography and now I am moving on to color intaglio. My previous instructor, though really knowledgeable, was ready to retire. I still visit with him once a week at his studio, as such I continue to learn from him, but in a way that plato's must have learned from socrates, listening to his old master espousing his wisdom. Not to compare printmaking to the foundation of western philosophy. I am also loving my drawing class. My advanced drawing instructor is really pushing thematic development, something I feel most of the other advanced classes are ignoring. She has really helped to refine my thinking, narrowing down my imagery to better develop and get closer to personal expression. Sculpture is going slowly. I am working on something that I inherited material wise from instructor. I've been short on funds to afford steel. He's been great about giving me stuff he isn't using or has lost interest in. With steel, the material lends to the shape of things to come. Granted, I could obliterate it, but I could also end up with a mess. One learning experience at a time.
