greenpeace is protesting a boat that's carring a cargo of gm beans... and the boat is named 'global wind'... nice.
mission: sell-a-lot-of-pictures-and-get-rich began last night with the planting of a few important seeds and asking a couple questions. not surprisingly, i can't go all bling bling with a display at work, but have to resort to word of mouth. fine by me. i don't want weird people that i don't know and are probably buying my work because they actually think it's 'good,' instead of my friends just buying it out of pity for me. heh.
in other, literal news... a local school banned a book about censorship (and sexual development). the superintendent is quoted saying: "I have reservations that many students at the ninth-grade level possess the maturity and life experiences to correctly interpret the few sensitive scenes depicted in the novel."
funnily enough, the local newspaper, with a distribution of about 130,000 daily readers, prints in the article Besides an account of sex, the book includes references to "copulating" and "firm, rosy-tipped breasts."
then, there is a mother stating "I think it's too mature. I think it embarrasses kids."
thoughts, anyone?

Re censorship, I firmly believe kids should get information from each other, otherwise we would have a dreadful shortage of teen pregnancy porn.
Well, the in-a-nutshell of the "algae" thing is, the more bizarre-ass non-marketing words they can include, the more they'll throw off spam filters. Except that now I think spam filters account for that as well. I'm on this "anti-spam" mailing list where we swap stories of techniques spammers use... if they were putting this ingenuity to some good use, imagine all we could accomplish!
