Some fancy pastries for you.
May they take you from Malaise to Creme Anglaise!
(sounds like a bus route in the south of France)

I think permanent vacations are beyond my limited powers as a mere mortal but might I recommend a quaint little place back East. The pace is a tad less hectic than here. The problems a bit less serious.
whatever
melladoree:
I cannot provide much of anything BUT I do know a hottie that lives in Bermuda! Seems like it would be the perfect place for a perm. type of vacation!

I am back, and more displaced than before.

I appear not to be master of my moods anymore.

Take me back to a month ago, when it was all happening.

Take me to the past or the future; anywhere but here.

My three-week stint as a Northeastern Englishwoman somehow came to an end, and my colleagues in Newcastle gave me a fantastic bye-bye bash. They bought me a Geordie dictionary and the Newcastle version of Monopoly. They then took me to a bar where they managed to get me so loaded, I somehow dropped my new phone into the toilet, lost my Newcastle monopoly game, and...

It was my last weekend in Newcastle, and I felt guilty lying in bed with the shades drawn, even if I did feel ill - especially with such lovely weather outside. I did not want to be a Morrissey song, at least not at that moment. So Saturday, I went to my new favorite little cafe and ate a prosciutto and gorgonzola salad, which was...

No worries...sounds like you had a fun trip though....

You're back in LA now?

My stay in Newcastle has been alternately fascinating and lonely the perfect balance of sentiments whilst traveling, I believe.

It feels as though theyve been working me harder here, which I dont necessarily mind, because it means I can leave earlier. Now, if I just had the UKs 4-5 weeks vacation to look forward to, Id be a subtitling machine.

The sad part about working...

Today, in an effort to save some time, I took the metro - and wound up walking two miles out of my way... in the rain. I had a great mozzarella-and-chicken salad, though. And the rain didn't bother me much at all.

At the station today I overhead someone saying that #80 bus was late; it was caught in traffic. I took it upon myself to start walking until the bus saw fit to catch up with me, which it never did. For an hour I walked past three Gothic graveyards, a series of Tandoori take-out establishments, the Posh Pets dog groomers, a number of ivy-covered bed...

Friday I leave for Europe for 5 weeks. 3 weeks working in Newcastle, one week being silly in London, and one week in Zagreb visiting my 96-year-old ladykiller grandpa.

I need bobbi pins and an emery board...

It was too hot for the plastic wig and the tail kept falling off, so I just went with the pointy bra,
which was not as exciting.

I went to Disneyland, Chinatown, and yesterday... I got some flowers. blush

Looking forward to a bohemian wedding at my old school, and staying overnight in the dorms.
I can't get too crazy, though - I have a trapeze...

All I can think about is the immense pun value of a relationship with a trapeze artist....
you could fall for them, be head over heels, they could seem to be a real catch, but turn out to be a bit of a swinger, they could lose their grip and you could end up dropping them.

Tomorrow I am wearing a plastic wig, a pointy bra, and a tail... to work.

Have a martini here, and watch Danny Bonaduce hula hoop by the pool.
