I face this blank computer screen without a clue as to what I can write about. Will it be brilliantly spontaneous, or will I lean upon my myriad of intellectual crutches for solace in the fear I've nothing interesting to say? Will I go to 9gag for some basically nonsensical random hilarity?
Will I continue to use correctly spelled large words until people stop reading and CHANGE THE CHANNEL ALREADY????
Stop and think. I'll wait.
I think I'm gonna wing it.
Everyone knows (or should know) how I feel about this site. I've met (in the virtual sense at least) some incredible people. I'd like to tip my chapeau to five disparate people, who make my SG experience even more of a pleasure than it already is. Not only for what they say, not only for what they do, but mostly for who they are.
RemoD66: Maybe the closest thing the hopefuls have to a god. Or at least a mentor. A voice of reason. Solace in the sometimes stormy sea of Member Review. A gentleman. A gemstone. A friend.
jimcurt99: What can be said about this man that he hasn't already said about himself? A lot. Because he never speaks of himself. Humble Wickedly talented. A wizard. A true star. (With no apologies to Todd Rundgren).
StCyr: I generally don't read the comments other people make on the blogs that I comment on (unless I don't understand what the blog is about and I don't want to seem stupid). But every time I see this man's comments (particularly the "spoilered" ones) I have to stop and take a peek. Many a day has occurred that my crappy mood has been lightened considerably by his gifs and erudite witticisms. And the man is a lawyer.
NerdMachine: If I were a half of a comedy team, this is the guy I'd team up with. We could take turns playing straight man, never missing a beat, until one day some hotshot agent sees us, loves him, and he leaves on a solo career, stepping over my rotting carcass on his way to a successful career as the replacement for Craig Ferguson. He's my friend. (Adam, not Craig Ferguson).
doormat: Whenever I blog, he's there. While one may question his relative sanity because of that, it gives me a sense of gratitude that at least somebody's reading the damn thing.
I'd been meaning to write this for awhile. And who knows who my next victims will be when I write one of these again.
And guys, if you're ever in Dallas, the drinks are on me. First round anyway.
