Going to see Machete today. Going to do the whole movie going experience just like a normal human being. The way it used to be. That means:

1. Junk food (too much of)
2. Feet on the back of the seat (especially fun if someone is in that seat)
3. Wearing pants (damn)

Looking for some big sloppy stupid fun and maybe, just maybe, a man crush on Danny Trejo.

Just sayin'.

I can't wait to see that one! I have been a huge Danny Trejo fan for a great many years now and I'm thrilled that he got to star in such a fun project! When I saw the Grindhouse double feature a couple of years ago, the Machete trailer was my favorite of the "fake trailers". I remember thinking that I wish that was a real movie. I guess wishes really do come true!

A few observations about Machete

This movie is way way way over the top.
You take the best qualities of Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba and Lindsay Lohan and you may come up with most of one good actress.
Danny Trejo and Cheech Marin should work together more often. There is a bromantic chemistry there.
DeNiro is well DeNiro.
I thought Don Johnson and Steven Seagal had died, Well their careers anyway,
Jeff Fahey needs to be a bigger star.

Would I recommend Machete? In a fucking heartbeat.

I think Jeff Fahey effectively killed his chances at bigger stardom with the God-awful "Lawnmower Man". I have enjoyed him in many thins, however; most recently his role in Lost.

I think I shall treat myself to Machete next weekend.
