While I am admittedly a cultural sponge when it comes to most things. I realized (just a few moments ago, hence this blog) that I really don't know much about today's music. What are the kids listening to?
(that's you guys).

So tell me, if you were trying to educate me on contemporary music, what artist, song, CD, download or whatever would you recommend as a good starting off point to get me up to speed on today's scene.

One disclaimer: no rules. It could be anything. I essentially stopped listening when disco came along, so before that I'm fairly familiar, afterwards, I'm pretty much clueless.

Yeah, only cause I'd hate to have Gonzilla do them and then not get pay. Not that I don't trust you cause you know I do. Just have to be fair and give everyone the same rules

This is some new REAL hardcore. A bunch of ex members of some good old school hardcore bands.

Also these guys have been around for 30 years and just came out with this cd. same old good tunes.

I try to always include music in my blog..there are currently two great groups on my current blog..I am an old head myself and at home normally go for my old stand my Nina Simone
I do have two teenage daughters and they have informed me that BOB is hot right now and I put it here cause I actually do like this song!! Mainly cause I could use a widh right now!!

anything by broken social scene, caribou, radiohead, the arcade fire, junior boys, kraftwerk, joy division, health, the white stripes, kings of leon, empire of the sun, animal collective, mgmt, and obviously led zeppelin.
