And that, I think, was the handle... that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. My name is Ronald Tobias Horton, Toby, Hey you, and several expletives. I recently moved to Portland, Oregon, from Las Vegas. Things up here are 132% different and quite a bit more in line with what I need to be happy, I think. Vegas is for the young and uninformed, and those who are able to ignore it. So... Here I am Portland. See you at one of the many McMenamins around town.

I was born a poor white child in Boise Idaho. My mom is a serial monogamist and a wonderful woman. My father is probably more like me than I would like to admit. But I wouldn't really know since I haven't seen him for most of my adult life. I used to drink a lot, do crazy things, date crazy women (apparently), and was very cynical. I spent a lot of time trying to fit into some weird niche in Vegas. In moving I wasn't running away. I think I was running away while I was doing all of that. Moving was more like climbing out of the smoldering wreckage that was my life in Las Vegas. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't change a thing. Well... maybe a couple of things. But more in the fashion of "If I knew then what I know now I would have ruled the world". So it's probably a good thing that I don't have it to do all over again. I probably wouldn't survive a second go round.

My hobbies include: Thinking, waking up early and drinking that first magic cup of coffee, meeting interesting people, pouring my heart out online to strangers, writing and playing music in my very limited fashion, cooking for people who really appreciate it, watching good TV (yes there is such a thing... Tivo rules), and many many other things. People often ask me what my favorite this or that is. I don't like to limit myself with favorites. My favorites don't last long against my ADD. And that is what makes me the eccentric and diverse person that I am. Past that I don't expect anything from anyone and I owe no explanations.
