Excerpts from my road journal down US1 from Main to Florida...

I saw a group in the water performing baptisms. I ventured in with my camera feeling like a wolf in the hen house... the preacher asked if I wanted to be baptized today.

Today, new shoes and new tires on the van. Just about ready to head back out on the road tomorrow.
Ar first I was going to wait out the hurricain that is rolling towards the eastcoast but I'm thinking it could make for some intersting photos if I leave soon and meet it head on in southern Virginia or North Carolina. I'll...

Oh my god!!! you're right, his voice!!! and you know what?! It's nasal!

That's why his voice is so weird!

He must have some sort of horrible permanent nose injury!

I am way too excited by this new discovery.

another road story from another time and space written and triggered in response to Katina's brush with bad luck in a Casino.......................
reminds me when I was broken down in Death Valley CA. waiting for the tow truck from Vegas to slither down the dark mountain hours away. A man who works at the gas station is talkng to me all night about his junkie wife and why the hell he was living at the "lowest point in America"(Stove Pipe Wells). He tells me when I get back to Vegas I should play the nickel Keno machine. 10 hours after my call for help the tow truck guy pulls up and I'm off back to the same place I was the day before. (side note..never trust machanics!!!) The next night at the Aztec Casino I did as the man said and played the Nickel Keno machine. And what do ya know after awhile I won the JACK POT! Not to say the jack pot is very large when it comes to nickels. Problem was I should have just walked away with the buckets full of coins and cashed out but insted I'm thinking hell its only like 50 bucks in nickels so I moved up to the quarters slots dreaming of the big bucks. While drinking dollar strawberry magaritas I managed to lose it all. Every cent and then some. Back in the hole and down the drain,,, I craweled back to my room at the Holiday Hotel a broken man (ok, maybe not so broken), only to meet some great new friends by the pool named Helen and Toly the next day. God, Helen was hot and I was spying on her while she layed out at the pool in her black bikini. ( years later and after a few road trips together were all still great friends. Only Toly and Hel have split up. and last I heard Helen has a pet monkey and a new boyfriend, as Toly wonders the bars checking out the ladies and plotting ways to make his films big business.) Ok..so maybe I've got carried away here, skimmit, and half assed the story a bit, and perhaps this recollection has nothing to do with yours. .. but ya know bad luck all has a way of working out in great ways. Only sometimes it has a strange way of showing it.
wow, now I remember why I should not stay up all night typing on this site... but instead of deleting this madness I'll just let it ride..snake eyes!

just found my way back to this site after months of being away. Had to peek my head back in the door for a bit to see whats been going on, and to see all the additions to the site.
Currently, I'm back in DC only for a few days until I'm back out on the road traveling down the old east coast highway US.1. US. 1 runs from the top of Maine south all the way to the end of Key West Florida. Over the last month I've done the Maine to DC run. Great road it is. One of the best for sure. From the isolation of the Maine coast, through the Bronx in NYC to all the sweaty southern nights in the Carolinas, and clear blue waters of Florida. This road is certainly the most diverse paved passport to American culture there is.
If there is anyone out there that is conected to this road, let me know, tell me a story, give me some leads on what to check out and photograph.

alright the deal has been sealed I'm off to SF in a couple days to wonder my way back via the backroads across the country. It's going to be a short trip. Only ten days, but it will cure my need for solitude and some dry desert air.
Good chance I'll be stopping my SG account very soon. , and eventhough I love all the...

My van was towed tonight from my friends apt. parking lot. How is it these people can get away with stealing some ones car in the middle of the night, and then turn around and charge you 100 bucks to get it back? Trolls under the bridge...I tell you, parking enforcement are the Devil...
maybe I'll pay them off in pennys.

ps. Hel's a cutie.

Fell off the edge of the map recently. Had to get away for some new discoveries and insights. Looking forward to the coming days when I take off to get lost once again on that long road to anywhere. I'm planning a full east coast drive before I hang a right and go west once again. For those who don't know I'm working on a...

I'm back after a week on the road and 2800 miles sliding along the highways down to New Orleans for Mardis Gras. Along the way I had a chance to do some photos of Ladytron in Columbus Ohio, and found some interesting little places on a snowy night in Wheeling WVA to pass some time. I love to find these suprising little towns that have...

Time to wash away the old... but do we ever really wash it away? Is it even posiable? I think we can hide from it, cast it out, disassemble it, pack it away as if they are old photos sealed behind the wall of your childhood home. There are other people now sleeping in your bedroom unaware of the memorys that have taken place. This...
