I think I'm going to cancel my SG account. I haven't looked at the naked girls in a few months, and only occasionally check my friend's journals.

I'll cancel in a few days, and will be findable other places.

Visited my mom yesterday. She was confused, but she recognized me, and was glad to see me.

The cancer has spread to her brain. I hope that the pain ends soon.

Hrm. This whole Orkut thing is really interesting. Invite only social network from Google. I know someone who has a relation that works for Google, so that's how I managed an invite. So far: it kicks the living crap out of Friendster.

i met someone i'd met on friendster once. looking for a "sugarmama". interesting. orkout is the same concept only better? how does one finaggle an invite if we're unconnected in the powers of the world?

how's mom?
antiprincess:
This here, right here, is my 1000th post. Yeah, you knew I was a giant dork. kiss kiss kiss

Hospice rocks.

My mom just got the whole Hospice setup, and it isn't costing them a dime. Not for meds, not for equipment, and not for people to visit the house (regular visits, or emergancy visits). They have nurses and doctors on call 24/7, and this is all in-home care. =)
antiprincess:
I love you forever and ever and ever.

well, its not as bad as implied, dad is just really tired and stressed from taking care of mom.

she has stage 4 ovarian cancer, which has spread to lower intestines, liver, spleen, stomach, lungs. Its also squeezing around a kidney, essentially making it useless.

dad is not in a support group. he's keeping busy with taking care of mom. I know that I'm not a fan of support groups, and I'm fairly certain that he won't either.

I'm doing alright, since its happening kinda slowly, I'm able to deal with each step along the way.
corsetqueen:
wow, i feel for you while you go through this time. cancer is a hard, ugly thing to experience and my heart goes out to you. take care of yourself and don't forget that cancer may take life from us, but it can't steal our memories of happier times.

hugs... kiss kiss

I just got a call from my dad: "this is a really hard call to make, but you need to come out this weekend and visit mom."

(for our viewers at home, we have already learned that my mom has ovarian cancer, and is on round 3 of chemo)
susannahjoy:
uh oh. *hugs* hope it's ok...
thepromdate:
crap. my step-dad had cancer twice when i was growing up. chemo is some fucked up shit. i'll be thinking lots of good thoughts for you and your family.

yay! I get to go to MacWorld Expo! It started today, but the Keynote is tommorow, and I was able to con my boss into paying for it. biggrin The Moscone Center is actually closer to me than work, so that is a nice change.

/me hopes for good swag
thepromdate:
how did the expo go? i've never gone to one.

Stolen from http://stupidevilbastard.com/archives/2003/11/20/what_not_to_do_during_return_of_the_king.php cause its funny. =)

1. Stand up halfway through the movie and yell loudly, "Wait... where the hell is Harry Potter?"

2. Block the entrance to the theater while screaming: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" - After the movie, say "Lucas could have done it better."

3. Play a drinking game where you have to take a sip every time someone says: "The...

alright, i'll do it....
corsetqueen:
wow, that's funny and makes me actually want to finally see these movies.

oh yeah, i'm probably like the last person on earth who hasn't seen any of them. i've been busy and they require 3 hours or so of sitting, which is a problem for me since i don't like to sit for even 3 minutes.

but now i have motivation, and i have you to thank for it. ya-har! ARRR!!!

I was able to hear until this morning. I was stupid, and greedy. Rather than keep my hearing, I thought it would be funny to try and clean out my ear again. This time it loosened up the wax, and caused it to block again. mad

I suppose I'll get this taken care of eventually, but I'll just keep managing to hurt myself in the process.

why does that sound so familiar? where is that from??

i got an e-letter for a tranny ice skating thing and it ended it with "just ask yourself, what would brian boitano do?" maybe that's why it sounds so familiar.

I am almost completly deaf in my left ear. I was cleaning it, and like the dumbass I am, I zigged when I should have zagged. Headphones, phones, on the bus, nothing out my left side. The pain is mostly bearable, but it throws me off balance, so trying to correct it hurts my knees.
obsidity:
Are you kidding? I mean was this s recent occurence? Will it get better is is that it?
That sucks man. I'm sorry...
