So I got the results back from a confidential staff survey at work today. 19 employees responded. 14 employees like the way I am doing my job, 3 would like for me to listen more and 2 asked to have me fired! I really feel like my hands are tied to run my facility the way I'd like to. If I knew how different things worked in Alaska compared to DC, I don't know if I would have accepted this position. I came from a right to work organization where if someone didn't do there job you could let them go, now I have a guy I can't terminate because he won't come to work for me to counsel about his inability to come to work. And even then I have to give him 3 warnings before I can officially request he be terminated? He hasn't been to work in over a month. Of course that may just be what you get for working somewhere that is primarily teenagers!
