yes, .... we seem to waste our lives away, at times...

From the great Robert G. Ingersoll:

"The good part of Christmas is not always Christian--it is generally Pagan; that is to say, human, natural.

Christianity did not come with tidings of great joy, but with a message of eternal grief. It came with the threat of everlasting torture on its lips. It meant war on earth and perdition hereafter.

It taught some good things--the beauty...

Thanks, everyone, for the bday wishes last week.

Went to the A.B.A.T.E. toy run yesterday in Palm Springs. Wasn't as big a deal as I thought it would be, but they did collect a van full of toys for the kids. And that's the important part.

It's strange to live in the desert and see snow in the mountains, but it sure is beautiful.

Salute to that! Maybe I should look into some of that Twain fella's stuff. I only really know his quote about the summers in S.F.
The game was great fun. And I'm telling you the class was pure boredom. I could barely stay awake. And I'm only 1/4 way thru!

Had thanksgiving with my whole family in Scottsdale, Arizona. We're not from there...we just like going there. Played some golf and tennis, sat around the pool...actually sounds a lot like life here in Palm Springs. Why the hell did I drive 4 hours on the I-10? biggrin

Also made my pilgrimages to Cosanti and Taliesin. Been to both a hundred times, but I feel an obligation...

Seriously I was so disappointed. frown
cinnamongurl:
No, thank you though. For the moment it seems as though the fire has just skirted around me. It is so devastating for some people. It's great that you're helping. *hugs*

"There is not sufficient love and goodness in the world to permit us to give some of it away to imaginary beings."

Bonus points if you guess the author (hint: he was born 163 years ago, today).

The thing is when I see them, I'm usually half way through the mundane 6+ hr drive to/from PHX to Ventura. and then all of a sudden....
But even more freaky and something I couldn't figure out for a while, was when you fly that route, you see numerous giant circles and other geometric patterns as you look out the plane window. I finally figured out that those were giant solar power installations (at least I think so).
Now there's a good investment. Cal has some deal where those are manated to be a certain percentage of the future power supply. Interesting (and likely scandalous as well!).

That is really sad, do you know why he was running?

I hope to get it latter this month.

You know I looked at that (alms-laguna) already and tried to size up every possible way of doing it.
Problem is I'm supposed to be in Camarillo that night for a 'casino night' thing. I haven't ruled it out yet completely but if I do it, it'll be spur of the moment and I'll have to race south as soon as it's over.
I'll be back and forth a bit more until the work situation dicatates where I totally need to be.
I'll certainly let you know if I plan to head up for that.

So long everyone.

I've had an amazing experience here, but it's time to roll on.

Everybody take care.

Edited to add:

I'm just a point where it's undeniably creepy for a 40 year old man to be ogling 20 year old girls. I'll still be around to check in on the groups and forums, and I'll stay in touch with all of the friends I've...

Highlights of my weekend in San Jose:

1. Margaritas at El Jardin Tequila Bar on Santana Row.
2. Meeting Sebastien Bourdais (driver for the Newman-Haas team, and season points leader).
3. Guided tour of the paddock.
4. Driving my friend's Porsche Boxster S on Skyline BLVD into the Santa Cruz mountains--full moon rising in the east, purple sky, fog rolling in from the west--totally surreal....

Well he didn't like it at first, I had him in my bedroom away from where I spend most of my time so he couldn't see me, and I wasn't giving him his out of cage time, so he chewed a big hole in his wheel to show his distaste for me, but now I've got things fixed so I can move him into the living room and he is much happier. And I had to buy him a new wheel and new toys.

Well see that would have been nice, but now that I live by myself I will not have the money to have TV, I can barley pay for the internet, witch I'm not happy about since there are some shows I'm really into right now.

Wow that sounds like an amazing drive in an amazing car.
