I think everyone has at some point in there life met something or someone they become obsessed with completely. I mean a total infatuation. Just an all encompassing fixation that fascinates and alludes. For most its a person who is almost magnetic. Or perhaps a persistant idea or desire. Really it can be anything.....
My obsession happens to be Henry Waffles, my Australian Shepherd.
Picture it, hot summer night about 2 years ago in Hollywood I was wide awake and messing around on one of my many social networking sites. I was creating a basically a virtual wishlist and on the list I had one request, a puppy. Now I never actually thought anyone would even consider reviewing this wish but hours after posting it I had someone agree to get the puppy. Just a random person that I do not know but will forever think of as a friend.
"just keep it under a 1000 bucks if you can." They told me.
So I went searching for Australian Shepherds online and found a whole farm of them in Nebraska. My first choice was a bit expensive. So instead of the blue eyed female I chose the runt. He was so so tiny in the pictures and had this look about him that said "I'm an asshole" Ofcourse I immediately fell in love with him through photos and waited for him to fly in the following week.
When I picked up Henry from the airport he was so teeny tiny, he was the size of a kitten. I was worried about him being so small, so fragile...for like a day. He was (is) such a terror. He beat up on my roommates HUGE pitbull so basically he was raised by a pitbull and has that mentality. Also he was quite the thief! I started to call him Aladdin because he was constantly stealing my skittles or post its. This puppy was crazy! And he would fall asleep in hidden parts of the apartment and sleep so hard that when I would call for him he wouldn't wake up, forcing me to search a one bedroom apartment in a panic for 15 minutes while he was napping under the couch. He lived in his own little world just like he still does to this day. Its his world we just live in, trust me.
I've had Mr. Waffles for 2 years now and in that time I have become completely obsessed with him. Like super duper obsessed. Like crazy obsessed.
But I like to think of him as more a necessity.
