last night i was sitting quietly on my couch with my laptop. it was about 6:30 am. we were playing world of warcraft. i heard a strange noise coming from the bathroom and after a few moments realized it was my roommate's cat, judas. she was howling, almost as if in pain or hunting or constipated or who knows. so i moved my laptop from my lap and placed it on the ground to stand up. i walked across the living room and just as i got down the hall to the doorway of the bathroom, judas takes off like a lightening-bolt out of the bathroom and past me. she is running as fast as i've seen any cat run ever. maybe she saw a ghost, maybe i spooked her, maybe she was chasing a really fast moth, i don't know. i turned around just in time to see her running across the keyboard of my laptop and make a 90 degree turn. keyboard buttons flying everywhere. she crosses thru the kitchen and out the window into the early morning light. i stand there stunned. part of me wonders what the hell was up and why she was so spooked and a much bigger part of me wants to kill the damn cat! i spend the next few minutes searching for and scooping up keys and little white plastic pieces. some of the keys pop right back on, but four of the keys seems busted due to the little white plastic pieces that sit under the keys are either missing or ripped. so basically I'm taking the ole lapper into the shop today, and depending on how much it costs to get it repaired, i may be offline for a while.
