Mom and dad are done visiting... the kids are back at their moms, and the day is gorgeous. So why is it that I'm up to my ears in work, instead of being able to go out???

*sigh*

Please tell me about your day so I can enjoy it vicariously.

biggrin biggrin biggrin

PS... I'm still looking for that hit of good Karma.. You can deliver it in person...

Figures. Easter weekend comes along, mom and pop come to visit and everyone has invites to go out. Not that I don't want to spend time with them... why can't all the fun happen when I DON'T have these obligations??? My karma really could use a boost!! whatever

For anyone that cares, I've returned. A feast for the prodigal son is certainly in order...

For anyone that could care less that I'm back, consider me still gone and may your Wheaties be soggy and germ ridden...

Aw, thanks! blush
And please, feel free to rant away. It's what I usually do in my journals. wink
I'm not really a war nut, but when it comes to WWII, I'm completely fascinated also.
Glad you like the pictures. You can find more here..WASP Gallery.

Welcome back! smile

My butt is sore. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, though...so that's good. 150 miles on a bike is about 110 more then I've ever done. 75 miles Saturday, 75 miles Sunday. Massages on both ends and plenty of eats to keep us nourished as we went.

Did I mention I really like massages? biggrin

I gotta keep streching or I'm going...

Question: Is there a song or a band that pegs your emotional meter in some way or another? ie. You cry without further provocation or curl into a ball of uncontrolable frutration, etc....

I have a number that do it for me. I was driving home listening to Neko Case and I started to cry. The other day it was Depeche Mode's "Get the Balance...

the cool thing is, i really didn't change the colors too much--maybe just made it a little bit more pink, but it was a beautiful sky that night! i could see fireworks going off on the horizon, from my screened porch, with the back side of Meijer's silhouetted in the foreground! hahaha

I'll take creativity over intelligence any day of the year...

I took an old mower, pitched the blown motor, strapped down one of the girl's car seats and some foam and we have an instant, new, wacky riding device. The girls loved it! What could be better?

Time for something new herer....But I'm not feeling very inspired.

It took over 500 photos yesterday at the Eyes on Design car show. It was an assigment for Car Design News, an online automobile designer resource. ( http://www.cardesignnews.com ) There was quite the amazing assortment of vehicles, this year. The show was started 16 years ago as a benefit for the Detroit Institute for Opthamology, by...

thank you for the support. i'm pretty in tune with how much i can take on right now, and i've been going to a therapist since this started over a year ago. thursday is a court date to finalize the divorce, if everything is in order by then. we're waiting on some info from someone. i was mostly meaning that i need to be physically independent by then--with a job and stuff.

I've been crying all day today. This morning I learned a good friend lost her battle with lung cancer Tuesday night. She was a great person...a rocking mom and a awesome artist and sculptor. She was only in her late 30's which is way too freaking young to be dying...

Please keep her and her family in your thoughts if you read this.

(or does your humor escape me? hmmm...) of course i'm aware there are power saws! tongue

cool website. you gotta read my past journal or two to catch up on my weekend....haha.......today i drilled some holes, and painted half of my living room.

my whole body is sore from pushing my car yesterday. waahh!
invisigirl:
haha---bubble wrap--just what i neeeeed!
thanks for all the well-wishes.
i love my car. it's a '99 saab 9-3. black. the good news is, it was a "certified" used car when i bought it last year, so it has a 2-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, so the repair of the ignition thingy was free! (but the oil change and 50k maintenance they talked me into was $140.! haha)

my living room is painted. finally.

Father's Day.

What a glorious excuse to goof off with your kids, take pictures, play in the inflatable pool on a sunny day and skateboard while sucking down a banana shake. All in all a good day.

This weeks Favorite Girl Theme: Libras. (like me.)

I don't mind you butting in, but I think evrybody suffers from what you call "emotional scarring," not just people around here. I don't really have much of a story I'm interested in telling. Read my journal from time to time and comment if you see something that strikes your fancy.

eewwwwwww! i can never squish bugs, especially if they're gonna make a crunch sound. *shivers just thinking about it*

Completly wasted the day. I'm not happy with myself about that. My responsiblity and my fault.

On a brighter note... My dad's employer held a retirement party for him at Kart2Kart, an indoor karting track in the area. That was cool. These aren't your run of the mill crappy little karts...these are fast! They have an automatic system for recording all you lap times which...

i'm planning to paint my living room.
i can't seem to get the damn brackets from the old blinds off the wall though....i don't own a wrench tiny enough. that kind of shit really slows a project down, ya know?
so, i guess it's: wrench shopping, then paint the living room.
haha

how 'bout you? cycling again?
invisigirl:
haha-- my pics are so heavily photoshopped it's not funny!
thanks for the compliments.

i can't imagine riding 35 miles--shit, i'm dead after going around the block! haha.....no, really, my body burns calories way too fast--i need to be eating a pizza while i'm pedaling! ha! i crack myself up!

bummer about the palm tree. sounds like a fun weekend though. i didn't start painting as i had planned. i ended up going out and about cuz my sunroof is really huge and i like to drive my car. i think i'm gonna get a wrench from my ex--how come he got all the good tools???

i don't know anyone looking for a roommate, sorry. there are always places available in this town, though. if you're interested in moving this way, just look in the sunday ann arbor news. what about ferndale or royal oak?
