I've been decidedly stuck in the necessary vortex of aspiration for a bit and neglecting this virtual hamlet once again, it would seem. If I don't get to it before I head to the homestead back east, Happy Christmas to All, and to all a good night!

For those of you who don't know it, or do, but deserve to hear it again. I wanted...

Hope you are having a perfect Christmas.

It's a bit of a trite sentiment, but be that as it may, I still wish you a most splendiferous new year. (If that is even a word.) smile

Headin out to Goldsboro North Carolina tonight to pitch the biggest proposal of my life, I don't ever do this kind of shite, share my vulnerabilities I mean, proposals happen often enough, but a wise woman once told me that there's greater strength in sharing your burdens than in trying to carry them alone. I guess I'm just puttin it out there, so that I...

The self lighting light and hands free snuggy combo for the little sloth in your life.

Sounds cosy. You, me, two mugs of real hot chocolate around the ol' tannebaum. (I'll crank the air conditioning so we can wear sweaters.) A whole box of Lion Bars under the tree. wink As for decorating. My approach never includes a theme. Partly because of my snuggy slothfulness, but mostly because I prefer to decorate my tree in memories....decorations I've picked up different places. Each year the collection grows by one or two. This year it's a buck toothed woodchuck and chubby faced Eskimo. Last year it was a Christmas lobster. Nothing too fancy. For me Christmas is not about fancy, but more about having fun.

Hope you have a restful night and knock 'em dead tomorrow.

Good luck with everything. smile

How sweet is that??!!! That is a wonderful little little tale. It makes me sad that you never got to know your grandpa. I love those little insights to what one's parents were like as kids. So often, it is easy to miss seeing that side of them, or to understand some of their hardships, or the things which brought them joy when they still had a child's heart.

sorry to say, but i haven't the slightest idea. (:

Poetry should be great and unobtrusive, a thing which enters into one's soul, and does not startle it or amaze it with itself, but with its subject.

Poetry should surprise by a fine excess and not by singularity, it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts, and appear almost a remembrance.

Poetry should... should strike the reader as a wording...

I really missed reading your blogs while you were away.... You're such a word magician and what you spread on the canvas of life is always wonderfully coloured by your experiences

WHAT WE LOSE DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE

How does one love from afar, and ONLY from afar... Jesus fucking Christ, the curse of imagination, of the ability to spark a self serving genesis in personality, to fabricate the inner workings of another, a muse? And God damn the fool who countlessly finds himself disappointed, surprised and depressed at the eventual deviance from his naively assumed...

11 AM nearly on the dot. I could swear I heard her door open. And the foot falls on the steps, were Pavlovian to me. My heart began to race, I love the sound of those funny red and green shoes on the concrete steps of our apartment building, it wakes me up like the bubbling fury of my new fangled coffee maker. I heard...

A new story for a new muse-

I never thought to ask her why she always wore those shoes. I figured she had a problem with her feet or that she was one of those hipster chicks who cruises the flea markets or resale shops in Pasadena or Silverlake for obscurities. All I did know was that every Sunday that little blonde would come racing...

To a blind solicitation from a woman who thought she would impress me with her overt sexuality, she even gave herself a mighty presumptuous pen name. Don't worry, she's not here, and I'm not betraying her, I won't print her letter, but she pissed me off.

I got all of it from what you wrote. I could feel the implication in your words. In my head it all took place in the 20's because as she said, she the new Zelda.

Sometimes it is better to take the classics out of context to act as metaphor, than to try and explain yourself-

Here's to another failed experiment. Goodnight Little Bird-

Between the desire, And the spasm
Between the potency, And the existence
Between the essence, And the descent
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom
For Thine is, Life is, For Thine is the
