Little Bird-

Chirp Away Little Bird
Chirp Away howd ya learn
From the back of a hand, to a bucktooth child
To the straight line of a man, and a priceless smile
The sister wife of Jesus from Assisi
She Gave me all her diamonds on the Liffey
I left them in the back seat of our red coach
I met you, bird,...

Yeah, but I'm the professor, and feel that I should know...
what makes her come... what makes her stay...
what make the animal run, run away...
what makes him tick apart from his prick...
and the lonelier side of the jealousy stick....

I don't know?

Young lady? I am only seven and a half years younger then you sir!

I'm less in picking mode, more in 'I need to know all about this' mode. Do you use the same characters repeatedly? What are you stories about? Are they published, if so where would I find them?

Children's book authors hold a special place in my heart. I consider myself a writer, and I have found that it is far harder to sit and write a book for a five year old then it is to sit and punch out a short story for an adult.

Thank you smile

Uncommonly I am soliciting stories, or tips that might lead me to the best free Birthday meal giveaways around. (non meal giveaways are welcome too of course). A friend, wants to see if we can spend the whole day, gorged on food without paying a dime (although I would be mortified were I not allowed to tip). She (the afore mentioned friend) seems to think...

I wish you the best in starting out your new life. Kind of ironic that it happen right around Velentines.

You're welcome, Sir! New ventures are always exciting...especially with a new gust for seeking.

I do believe it worked! Go ahead and fold the triangle smile

Oh we're all full of shit these days, some of us just eat more fiber.

There are times when I feel this to be entirely true, and other times when I feel certain that we're all just doing our best to get by. I don't know about you, but with each year, it feels more pressing to strip away as much of the bullshit as I can from my life and get back to the basics. To temper optimism with realism, at the same time avoiding that downhill slide into cynicism. Are you going through a bit of that at the moment or is it just an obeservation you wanted to share?

I just saw the Wrestler, and well, if you needed endorsement to inspire you to see it, here you go.

What a beautiful performance, truly. It was like Poetry

I've been decidedly stuck in the necessary vortex of aspiration for a bit and neglecting this virtual hamlet once again, it would seem. If I don't get to it before I head to the homestead back east, Happy Christmas to All, and to all a good night!

For those of you who don't know it, or do, but deserve to hear it again. I wanted...

It's a bit of a trite sentiment, but be that as it may, I still wish you a most splendiferous new year. (If that is even a word.) smile

Headin out to Goldsboro North Carolina tonight to pitch the biggest proposal of my life, I don't ever do this kind of shite, share my vulnerabilities I mean, proposals happen often enough, but a wise woman once told me that there's greater strength in sharing your burdens than in trying to carry them alone. I guess I'm just puttin it out there, so that I...

The self lighting light and hands free snuggy combo for the little sloth in your life.

Sounds cosy. You, me, two mugs of real hot chocolate around the ol' tannebaum. (I'll crank the air conditioning so we can wear sweaters.) A whole box of Lion Bars under the tree. wink As for decorating. My approach never includes a theme. Partly because of my snuggy slothfulness, but mostly because I prefer to decorate my tree in memories....decorations I've picked up different places. Each year the collection grows by one or two. This year it's a buck toothed woodchuck and chubby faced Eskimo. Last year it was a Christmas lobster. Nothing too fancy. For me Christmas is not about fancy, but more about having fun.

Hope you have a restful night and knock 'em dead tomorrow.
_holden_:
Good luck with everything. smile

How sweet is that??!!! That is a wonderful little little tale. It makes me sad that you never got to know your grandpa. I love those little insights to what one's parents were like as kids. So often, it is easy to miss seeing that side of them, or to understand some of their hardships, or the things which brought them joy when they still had a child's heart.

sorry to say, but i haven't the slightest idea. (:
