The Gorgeous Hipster Lesbians I Hate

And if I ran away to the Northwest,
I would never be as beautiful as you.
I would dream constantly of knobbly knees,
and torn tights,
and strange haircuts;

But I would always have dirt under my fingernails,
I would never get laid enough,
and would stand awkwardly in the corner,
not smoking cigarettes because I quit,
dammit,
and muttering words under my breath
as all the gorgeous hipster lesbians
went home with other
gorgeous hipster lesbians.

So I will stay in Kansas,
and wear dirty jeans,
and dream of the Northwest,
and all the gorgeous hipster girls,
as I take all my piercings out
and cover my tattoos with flannel,
and avoid all the hipster parties,
and download the music they listen to there.

I will read comics and play MMORPGs in my room alone.
I will possibly become enthralled with Star Trek
and move in with my mother.

I will go to shows and stand in the corners,
not smoking cigarettes,
dammit,
and whisper poetry under my breath
as all the gorgeous hipster lesbians
go home with other
gorgeous hipster lesbians.
