we finally have a decent amount of snow. usually november and december are the big snow months, right before we launch into january, and the month of below zero cold.

not this year. anchorage, AK has had like 2 inches of snow until last saturday. and the temp. has stayed right around 0 to 5 degrees above for a long time.

holey fuck it's august. all i have done is work all summer. alaska is awesome like that. if the weather sucks you can always work for 2 months strait, and hope for a fun winter.

it didn't get dark until just now 1:39am. enough said. my state is cooler than yours.

i love sunshine. one day of weather above 65 degrees, and the trees turned green. from brown to green in 24 hours.

the leaves are not all the way out but, my landscape has experience a slight change in color, and i approve.

mmmm.. sun light. brilliant blue skies, mountains with snow on top, and the leaves are coming. don't get me wrong i came back to the upper 1 because i love it here. even the dark and the cold. but as it warms up i know that the green is coming i can't help but be excited. nature is about to explode...

this was the best winter alaska, has had in 5 years. but i'm ready for it to be done. i want all the white to turn green today. but it's going to take a while. here in anchorage where i live we were 3 inches short of the record. 136 inches of snow.

melting is going to take a minute or two.

so, i got home today, and let my giant half lab, half rotti out to go pee. there is a lot of snow this year, and if he tried he could jump the 6 foot fence pretty easily. he ran to the back and was sniffing wildly around the fence. he's a dog, he sniffs. i wasn't really paying much attention.

it's cold. it's been somewhere below zero at night, and most of the day for 6 days. fog came in off the water, and all the trees are covered in ice crystals giving them the look of giant albino coral that has wondered ashore after being mutated by the nuclear disaster in japan.

everything sparkles like it's made of the same stuff as fairy panties....
