I have heard that a cat at home in Texas is missing. She is just a wild cat, my parents kid of adopted her when they were in Istanbul. This cat remembers me and likes me. She has done this before, but I am still worried, half way across the country.
On the other hand, a cat that we and everyone else who met him loved him, died in pain because my sister would not let me end his pain.
Animals, pets, companions. Often more reliable than humans. They are not replacable. Of course, you can buy and learn to love another dog. But it will not be the same dog.
We have no pets here, my flat mates will not allow it. So I treasure my moments with the cats when I in Texas.

If you invite someone to spend the night with you, he should be there when you want him, and leave when you want him to, When I was at college, I was walking back to my dorm and I saw a police car at one of the dorms. I asked the cops (real cops, not campus police) if there was any trouble, and he said "No, just a Peeping Tom." Not trouble for the cops, but Jessie could not stay in her room for a while. When I met her, we agreed that I would arrive not after 10 PM and leave not before 6 AM. She would be in sweats underneath the covers, I would be fully clothed on top of the covers. After about a month, she told me she no longer needed me. We were friends for a while, but it ended badly, which was entirely my fault. Watch out for virgins, we might freak out.
With my ex, when we would go out for dinner, on occasion, it wold end up a bit heavy, and she would not be interested in sex at all. I still spent the night. Aisha is asleep in the next room, and will not wake up until it is time for her to get ready to go to work. No reason for me to join her; I could go across the street to the bars and drink, except for I gave up alcohol for Lent, and I like to sleep with women. Eating and sleeping together builds intimacy, even if there is nothing physical involved.
It sounds as if you have the taken the first steps to getting out of that.
As to the "gorgeous" guy, remember that you are gorgeous, too, so he probably has nothing on you. He does not seem to be so bad, If you have the same friends, he may be difficult to get rid of, anyway.

I'm completely off pain meds and i drove!
A friend that i hadn't heard from in awhile called me up and I took her home to Dublin. She had no other way of getting home for Christmas, and i figured, Why Not?? But I missed a music show at Blackwater, which was probably amazing, which makes me sad
i thought i had the flu
i had appendicitis.
i had emergency surgery monday night.
i just got home from the hospital
and i'm all better now
but still sore
so... this makes me savage.
why, you ask?
because i got sick sunday,
worked for three hours after
drove my ass back and forth to sacramento
and took 4 finals
with that shit.
hella savage...... yay for finals being over though!! and its a good thing they caught that when they did, long story short my brother's appendix almost burst along with his small intestine, because his doctors were stupid claiming it wasnt his appendix....
anyway, glad to hear you're doing better!! i say we all have a get together in celebration of the semester ending....
