went to visit my cousin today because tomorrow is her birthday, and she's moving to somewhere near calgary next week. had a pretty good time, birthday cake was served. mocking of other relatives took place.

the drive home was where things got interesting. my parents who also showed up, left about 10 minutes before me, and the roads were pretty shitty after another afternoon of snow dump. so about half way home i see this car pulled off to the side of the road. it was kind of dark so i drove by slowly then doubled back after realizing it was them. turns out my old man clocked a deer, or i guess the deer clocked them. it pretty much crunched the entire front end of the car, and then scampered off into the woods. no one was hurt, but some fur needs to be removed from around the headlights.

that's a blown opportunity for some fresh venison.

but it's good that no one was hurt. hitting animals like that can be dangerous, you know.

My 'sportsmen' friends in Telluride, CO. would have chased
that deer down and gone right for the tenderloin. Oh, wait, I have a pic of them somewhere in my email. I'll see if I can post it. Deerslayers.
Anyway - bands I've shot:
U2, Fugazi, Supersuckers, Motorhead, Candy Snatchers, Mudhoney, Nashville Pussy, Murder City Devils, Zeke, Briefs, Dwarves, Hellacopters, Hookers, Gaza Strippers, Mike Watt, Jesus Lizard, Donnas, Rocket from the Crypt, Speedealer, Roller, about 15 Denver bands, Reverend Horton Heat, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, a few more.

yeah it's hard to screw up Motorhead photos -
there's only 3 dudes and the drummer is like from some
'80s hair band so I didn't even shoot him. Lemmy is pretty old so he pretty much stands still, puts the mic up real high and you basically look up his nose. Also Hank III and the Melvins.

i love deer jerky.

guy we used to work with is a vegetarian but his dad is a big hunter type and would always give him fresh venison sausage and deer jerky from his kills, we think just to give mitch shit about being a vegetarian (dad was a grade-a redneck). so mitch just brought it up to the office and handed it out. this happened every year, it was practically a tradition.
