I removed my card information and it let me stay for a couple weeks, then I gifted someone else and it used that info to renew me; there is a box you have to click saying you do not want to renew or else they will renew you...

the odd thing is that there is no charge on my card/in my bank acct.

Yep! It happens from time to time, just make sure you cancel the auto renew.
