"Bring your kids to work day" is probably a good idea.

Might as well teach the little fuckers right away that once they've suffered school obligations, then they get work life obligations.

Totally obliterate the concept that life may somewhat be fun in the long run early and they won't be much disappointed. Now, that's pro-activity.

I made the mistake of telling my GF how I know most of my friends in London. Needless to say, it didn't go down too well.

Worst thing is, I told her this months ago - and it still isn't going down well.

So, I went to the Aphorism CD release party at Jun Bar. Either you ended up changing your plans, or you got there pretty late, cuz I didn't see you there. But, I had a good time anyway. I generally don't listen to a lot of industrial music, but I liked what the DJs were playing. Also, the staff at Jun Bar were super cool. Either they're really nice, or else they were in an extra good mood. Anyway, too bad we didn't hook up, but thanks for the tip, I had fun.

It's the first time I've been to the doctors since I was like 8, I wasn't even on their system,ha. My doctor retired a few years go apparently. shocked

That book seems pretty interesting and I see things from the other side where I work too. It amazes me how so many people will literally buy things just because they're in front of them.

I'm currently reading World War Z and that has some pretty scathing social commentary woven throughout. Like corporations that sell fear rather than products, fear of being lonely, fear of sexual inadequacy, fear of getting old. Also 70% of the survivors have absolutely no practical skills at all, most of them being "Executive" this or "Assistant" whatever before things went insane .

Yes and to think a few years ago I wanted to go soooo bad into sales and now find myself up selling and sort of liking it tongue surreal next stop...

Man, is it good not to work on a Monday. Maybe I should write Obama and ask for the creation of the 4-day workweek. Yes we can!

Apart from that, not much to say, the weekend was quiet, watching the sky falling on our heads. Haven't seen that much rain in a long time, reminded me of the bad old days in London. I'm still...

I like that idea, but breaking a cat to accept a saddle is harder then you would think.

I got so much real estate on my body to spare for tattoos for the next decade!
The last year I've focused on my back for only the first-ever time since I started getting ink, and the Aquaman piece in progress is in an all-new area, my leg below the thigh.
To tell the truth, I have to wear shorts and a t-shirt before anyone would figure that it's possible that I have at least 30 tattoos on me. I'm very strategic in where I get them done so I can function in the corporate world like I do.

Thanks, your support means a lot. smile

I got the corset off eBay -- it's a vintage Camp girdle, from the 70s if I'm not mistaken. I love the lacing for the vaguely Victorian and medical effect it has. smile

Hey! Yup, I'm a big winner, too.

Good to see you.

And on other days humanity is refreshing, like today.

It all evens out I guess.

That's my point of view too, but I'm still afraid he could think I'm not interested anymore.

I am doing pretty good, it's just amazing how much worse it is then I had imagined.

On the surface it seemed so simple to work around but in practice.. holy shit.

I'm glad it's Friday tomorrow... It feels like it's been a long week although, ironically, I did not work this Monday, which was awesome. If there is one cause I'd like to support, it's the 4-day work week & 3-day weekend. We're so screwed with the 5-2 thing. Never leaves much time to do stuff when you're in between house chores and recovery from the...

I would look for something else but unemployment is currently at about 19.5% in my city, (going by figures from the 2001 census anyways) so it's not the best time for looking for alternative employment really. I'm kind of lucky really since the company I work for is fairly well isolated from the recession. Loads of companys are dropping staff by the hundreds, I don't know whether you follow the news from where you are.

As for Motorhead they released their first album 3 years before I was born (1977) and their Lemmy's 7th band! I think he's something like 63, that must make him the coolest pensioner on the planet. I remember watching a documentary called "Motorheadche Too Old to Die Young" and he said "I can't remember not being in a band, I don't know how to do anything else".
