Settled into home a bit now. Still another month until I go back out. It's nice to have such a long vacation, but at teh same time, 8 weeks of no income is pretty uncomfortable. I'm already pretty much broke and ready to start selling things. Unloading some CD's and PS2 games should net me at least enough for 1 more weekend out before I go. I am so very close to getting a land job now, but I am very excited to be going to Holland and Germany to set up this new ship. This gig will only be a couple of months at which time I will either be promoted or leave the sea--at least this company. I just e-mailed my resume to Cirque du Soleil tonight for a position on their European tour. If that were to come through, I would pass on the ship gig. I'm also coming down with the school bug again and really want to go back in the fall. Starting school over at 30 seems a bit daunting, but I think being more mature and worldly will make me much more effective than the last time. I've decided that I want to take a language program with French and Russian as well as an International Studies program. Then I have a better chance at getting in on European tours and working in land theaters over there as well. I think doing that for a few years will much better satisfy the urge to experience that part of the world better than cruise ship life!
