Two weeks ago I started working out again, because I realized that if I get one of these security contractor jobs I've been applying for, I'll need to be fit for combat, since it'd be a very real possibility. It started out worse than I thought it would be, but it's quickly gotten better. When I first hit the gym, my arms were so sore that I almost couldn't bring my muscles to even wash my hands in the sink. This week, an arm day slightly harder than that first one still left me capable of using my arms. My legs are still about as strong as they have been, so they didn't disappoint me. Cardio was a bitch, though. That first day, I walked/ran 1.5 miles in 22 minutes. So being the genius that I am, I decided that the next cardio day would be at a much faster pace. Day 1 I jogged at at 10-minute mile pace, and day 2 I kicked it up to an 8-minute mile pace. And you know what? I didn't slow down. Hell, I even ended up sprinting at the end. That's the kind of running I'd done all through high school, so I think my mistake was just running too slow.
Anyway, back to this weekend. Cardio in the morning, then I went to my mom's house for my nieces' birthday party. I had the pleasure of doing the heavy lifting (because my older brother was pretty sick) and last-minute errands (because I'm the one with the truck), but it was worth it. Jadalyn and Katalina, my nieces, enjoyed the party, as did all of their friends. We rented a bounce house and a snow cone machine, and my step-dad grilled burgers and hot dogs. Once it was time for the piñata, that was where I had my fun. I kept moving it around so it was challenging for the kids to hit, but it was mostly to make sure they all got a turn at it. I won't say I didn't enjoy it, though.
All the moving stuff around and playing with kids left me pretty tired though, but not too tired to do some drinking with friends last night. It went well compared to other nights, in that no one got injured, but this morning I was paying for it. I woke up feeling alright, but about an hour later I was throwing up over the balcony. My stomach was pretty empty, so all that came out was the water I'd just drank. I chilled at my friend's apartment playing some video games, not moving an inch to avoid upsetting my stomach any more. I didn't feel good enough to leave his place til about two hours ago, but now I'm just about fine. I'm keeping my dinner down, so I think I'm good. I'm tired, though, so hopefully I'll sleep well tonight.
I'm very sceptical when it comes to astrology, religion, or any other kind of belief that is based on things that cannot be measured.
