My uncle, and my mother's only full sibling, died tonight. He had metastasized throat cancer. The family had been expecting it to a degree, but you never fully expect it. And he was reacting well to chemo. My poor mother. My poor aunt.

Well, so. Back from Seattle, for a visit to the 'rents, with the in-laws tagging along. It was just getting to be too much family togetherness, when it was time to come back to San Francisco. Saw some old friends at what's becoming a holiday tradition-the 'rents throwing a small holiday party.

WARNING: Minor whining below the jump.

Fuck me. We did it again; our "quiet evening" turned into a drunken, close-the-bars-and-continue-the-party-with-Rock-Band fest. Too much party.

Why the hell is it that every time wifey and I say "we're having a quiet evening tonight" and that "we're going to bed early", we end up drinking till 4 am? Jesus Christ, you think we'd learn.
