So, with the last tattoo, the artist (a friend of mine) suggested this whole "classic" sci-fi theme quarter sleeve (think-covers of Amazing Stories or Omi magazines). I'm just crazy enough to start thinking about it. Robots, rocket ships, aliens, space men and women, astronauts, ray guns, etc.

What do y'all think?
aldremech:
I think it would be pretty sweet to do some of the 50's & 60's style sci-fi stuff together..
browngirl:
you never even showed us the first one.

and i think this should go on your leg & look like it's a detachable cyborg leg. or be a detachable cyborg leg.

News... news... news...

Yeah. Back in AZ for a wedding this weekend, then off to Singapore on business for a week (like 3 hours after I get back from AZ). Then, the following week, South Carolina for another wedding. I'm such a globetrotter. Jealous?

Rode the bike to work today again. Or rather, rode the bike to the Caltrain station, then from the Caltrain station to work. Woot. I'm all active and so forth.

Actually, it was fun. Especially in the heavy fog this morning.

Day 2 of no coffee. I've been getting up at 5:15 each morning.

This is brutal.

The trailer for this "House of the Devil" movie that they're advertising looks interesting/reflects how I'm feeling a bit right now.
aldremech:
It was good times. Can't you mug someone and steal their coffee in the morning?eeek

I am up entirely too early to watch the last class lecture that I missed from last week. I let it slide this weekend. We went to Berkeley on Saturday - it's a neat place, but I thought parts of it were a little too carnival-like (and not in that good way). Though part of that might have been the football game (?) or whatever...

No coffee = no leave house for work until coffee magically appears.

Last time I was in Berkeley I had the same vibe, but there was nothing going on. Just seemed too touristyconfused

Been dragging ass all week. I'm not sure why, I have this exhaustion I just can't shake. Oh, well.

Saturday is a trip to Berkeley. I've never been and always wanted to go, but I'm not 100% clear why.

One of our cats has taken lately to wandering to a corner, staring intently at nothing, and just howling. This happens for about 30-45 seconds, and...

No news this weekend. Had a fairly boring one. I did, however, get a bicycle at last. And ordered a new PC, so I can game again.

I did, however, find out that some people like to read and write stories about dinosaurs fucking people, and vice versa. Although I can honestly say, I might have been better off not knowing about that one.

Holy crap, it rained hard today. Almost too hard to walk and get alcohol. I said 'almost'.

EDIT: Also found a good place to get my hair cut. It's expensive (relatively speaking), but they do a great job, and keep the conversation along nonirritating lines. I know this thrills you all.
browngirl:
unfortunately, they shaved smiley faces into the back of your head & you just haven't seen it yet.
browngirl:
cheery scalps for the win!

School's started again, and it looks at least one of my classes is shaping up to be very, very interesting ("Survey of optimization methods"). So, that's exciting. This is also my last semester of full-on classes. Over the summer, I have a 3-credit (9 hour/week) project, and a 1-credit (2 hours/week) project. They're related, so that'll make life easier.

Oh, and also, I'm in the...

I would recommend putting your own machine together. Look around at different sites and see what they are putting into their gaming cores, and you should be able to get one going fairly cheap. I built mine a few years ago from local shops and places like tigerdirect.com, and newegg.com. After getting the rebates, it cost me less then $100.00 total biggrin
browngirl:
i recommend stealing a computer. aldremech seems to have a nice gaming machine so you should consider that one first but don't limit yourself.

After sleeping in and going for a run on Saturday (I'm gonna try to run on the weekends now, too), I'm going to get my haircut. My weekend is chock full of surprises.

In other news, apparently it's good that I flunked out of grad school, since apparently physics has nothing left to know.
trilby:
Yea tried to change it a number of times and got the same result, never mind wink
hope all is well with you
trilby:
Ha ha ha not creepy, thanks, not too sure whats going on with it. Hopefully my weeks will start to pick up, the last few have been pretty quiet...I get bored too easily.

Hope you've had a good weekend

Ok, I'm back from the Northeast. Man, that place is cold! Someone told me I 'couldn't know' what the cabin fever of a New England winter was like. Tht's not 100% true; a Tucson summer means you don't go outside much, either. Still, I think I'd rather be too hot than too cold.

School starts on Thursday. Just one more semester of 'regular' classes, then...

Got the OK from the new bossman to take Wed-Fri off for the memorial service in New Hampshire for my uncle. That's sort of making it finally sink in... he's gone. Not that we were that close, so I'm not weeping all over the place, but I am going to seriously miss him. This isn't gonna be a fun week.
