i can't sleep...my mind is racing.
in conversation earlier, i was asked what i thought our purpose for being is. i gave the stupid person's answer: i don't know...and quite frankly, i have no idea. he proceeded to answer his own question and tell me that our purpose is to teach and recreate...i asked him a few questions (mainly because those are things that we do, although i do not believe that our purpose lays there.) he said we were supposed to evolve into super intelligent beings. basically, his claim was that our purpose is to evolve.. i told him, that is what happens, although again, this is not our purpose for being, just one of the consequences of our existance, i guess. so i asked him if he felt that all the idiots in the werld were going to weed themselves out..this idea sounds rather utopian, extremely improbable, and overall, pretty silly. he mentioned something about the survival of the fittest.
i responded: survival of the fittest is the human excuse to step on others in order to make ourselves taller.
he agreed, but then added that he believes that the ones who are dependent upon others will ultimately be fucked over and i guess they will be the ones weeded out? i don't really remember what he said, except for the fact that it was another silly statement that i knew he could not prove (he's an athiest, if he were not, i wouldn't question his statement that those who abuse others to benefit themselves will be ultimately fucked, however, without god, this doesn't make all that much sense...)
i related this all to capitolism. i explained the relation between the proletariat and the bougeoise, and then i made the connection that they are interdependent.
i think this guy has no idea what he's talking about, and probably hasn't given the issue a very thorough analyzation. however, he would like to think that he has a purpose, mainly for comfort. people cling to comfort. it's true. they tell themselves all kinds of fallocies just to stay within their realm of comfort.
consequently, i have found a topic for my 10 page metaphysics paper. we were discussing kant in class today, my professor pointed out that kunt feels that space/time is dependent upon humans. i don't buy it. i'm going to (definitely give this more thought, first off) discuss the interdependence of space/time and human existance (or the possibility of one being dependent upon the other....i'd say that we are dependent upon it, moreso than it on us.)
if you've failed to see the parallel relation between these two issues....fuck you, you suck. haha. the relation is dependence, obviously. i was thinking about people being dependent...going by what this boy said, all who are dependent will suffer, thus we're all damned. we are all dependent, on what we are dependent and in which way is variable, however they tend to be fairly consistent (particularly outside of the material realm, i cannot find the proper werds to express the thought of the 'material realm', however i mean pretty much everything which is not pertaining to metaphysics. for example: space/time...i'm sure you never would've guessed.)
ok. i'm done.
oh yeh, i forgot to mention something my teacher spoke of earlier today in class, i thought it was cute. well here it is (unfortunately, i cannot remember it precisely): it rains. and all the good moral people get wet because the bad people stole their umbrellas (and those bastards stay dry!)

Personally, I'd need to be convinced that it was the other way around.
Are you going to the SGChicago event on Saturday?
