Back in September I quit my job that I had for over six years, at Fueled By Ramen Records. Yes that is the lovely label that brought the world Fall Out Boy, Panic At The Disco, The Academy Is... and many lessor known, but perhaps more talented groups like The Stereo, Frodus, Whippersnapper, Cadillac Blindside, The A.K.A.s, Ann Beretta, Jersey or the Impossibles. I really used to love working there. I liked being able to go out to the bar with our bands and get completely shit faced. I liked being able to call them friends, and to be able to call them if I was having problems in my life for advice. Well, the past few years of working there didn't quite seem the same, with the excepetion of The Academy Is... I don't really know if I could connect to any bands on the label on a personal level, whether it was because of the age difference, or the music they were playing, I am not quite sure, but regardless, I quit the job that was MY LIFE. I only know a few people on this site personally, so most of you won't even get this, nor will you really give a fuck, haha.
So now having quit that job I needed a new job, but I wanted one that I cared about and that meant more than a paycheck, I wanted to recapture that feeling that I used to get when I woke up every morning looking forward to going to work. Luckily the obvious choice for me personally actually worked out and I am now employed once again with the wonderful band Less Than Jake, who are like family to me. I have been working part time with them ever since I started at Fueled By Ramen, and it just seemed like the right thing to go back to. It's nice to be able to work for a group of people who respect you, respect your work ethic, and respect the fact that you are looking out for their best interests. It's nice to feel appreciated every once in a while, and...
