@dhyani Very astute of you...seems to me you remember your Spanish quite well. I've taken a bit of poetic license with the use of "la antorcha." The sun is sometimes romantically referred to as "la antorcha del dia" to verbalize the concept of the sun as the giver of light, warmth,  and life. In effect, my user name was meant to  be a poetic way to call myself "Son of the Sun." Besides, "hijo del sol" is an overused phrase that lacks imagination. Thanks for writing. 😊
