well, I have a plan for Monday and Tuesday...given my personality and how I am, this is highly impressive people, just so you know (I barely have anything planned out for the next day!)
Monday:
hear back from Dundee...if I got the job, great, call Wegmans and get my shifts filled. if I did not get the job, plan B goes into action:
1. ask for feedback. why did I not get the job?
2. apply for 2 jobs at the Center for Youth in Rochester...a School-Based Counselor and Assistant Program Manager-Shelter
3. look and apply for any jobs that look interesting at St. Josephs Villa and Hillside Children's Charities.
4. check out Higheredjobs.com and studentaffairs.com for jobs. there were a few jobs posted in the Res Life field...I did that job for five years. if I get a job at say RIT (20 minutes from where I live), GREAT! work there for a year and save up money and pay down bills! the nice part of Res Life is that I live on campus, so no bills in the following:
phone
internet
cable
utilities
RENT!
and some offer a partial meal plan. plus, since most of my family is local, no long distance! and travel is little to nothing!
after all this is said and done, my job searching for next year will be:
look at the Rochester area.
look outside of Rochester....I've been told that the Northern Part of New York hires a lot. people don't want to go there because, well, the weather sucks. its cold. we're talking Adirondack Mountain area and St. Lawrence River area. plus they pay good!
look for jobs out of state. meaning I'll be pulling from everyone here (and taking notes from jermhawk, who was job searching for me in his area, thank you very much....just sucks that I didn't have the money to move!) for job leads in your area as well as giving me a good idea of areas (such as rent costs, what the area is like and such). plus, well, since I don't make friends easily really (I tend to be quiet in real life, believe it or not!), also someone to help me acclimate to the area.
wheeew....that is a plan. what do you think? unfortunately, all contingent on getting a job. but you never know! fingers crossed!
