well, another weekend here...which means another weekend of overnight shifts! three actually. next Saturday is a family birthday party (for Connor who we call "The Moose") for my cousin's one year old son. seriously, what do you buy a one year old boy with 2 older brothers who happens to weigh in around 25 lbs.? yes, he's one, he's 25 lbs. he's 10 lbs. lighter than his brother who is turning 4 later this year. and you wonder why we call him "The Moose".
still looking for a job. on Monday I sent out stuff to York Central School District, and stuff out to Attica Central School District on Wednesday. both are new postings. York wants everything today (th 15th) and Attica wants everything by the 18th. and both want a person on-board and working by the 25th! wish me luck! it could be rough.....but well worth it too! and a quick turn-around time.
small districts. York is rural. Attica is known for, well, Attica Prison. that's about it. but, in all honesty, if I can pay my bills, live comfortably (aka, afford a 1 bedroom apartment), and I feel valued and respected and that I'm workig in a positive atmosphere, where I get hired is where I retire!
and if these don't work out, well, St. Joseph's Villa has openings for a Residential Counselor (way over qualified for) and a School Social Worker. so I'll go for one of those jobs. again, pay isn't great (its a non-profit organization), but its good experience and will guarantee pay me more than Wegmans!
so that's about it. time to get ready and a nap....these overnight shifts suck sometimes!
ADDENDUM Saturday:
so a Jehovah witness stopped by today. he went to talk to me about global warning. times like this is when I'm glad I was a science major/minored in Chemistry. I could talk in big words about hypotheses and surmises and extrapolations and probably had this guy going "Uhhhh....what do I do now?"
but next time....either pull out the sword and start cleaning it or sharpen a knife at the door....too bad my family won't let me have a gun....
