wow, thanks for all the kind words everyone from my last blog. one of the things about me is that I tend to write when I'm upset or unhappy. as if by writing I get the words out that I can not normally express out loud. that and there seems to be a tremendous lack of people around me that will listen. guess that's one of the things I enjoyed about counseling...there was someone there to listen.
so a job has opened up in the area, York Central School District. it was just posted in today's Democrat and Chronicle (local newspaper) and the district wants everything by the 15th! talk about quick turn around time!
also talked with a security guard last night. he's a former sheriff's deputy and knows many people in the education field in the area. he said that many schools had the cuts in place from the County Executive's cuts to the schools. the cuts have been restored, but the budgets do not reflect this. so the schools have started exploring such options as having 1/2 time counselors and such instead of full-time counselors. this has lead to many jobs that normally would be out there not being there anymore. yeah, that could explain a lot!
so where does this leave me? I'm applying for York. I have 2 others to hear from....one of which is a good hour to hour and a half away (and I have no desire to go there). if things don't work out for getting in the schools, then looking at things like St. Joseph's Villa or Hillside Children's Center. these are more for troubled youth and are non-profit organizations. which means experience but less money. I figure work there for a year or 2, get some money (and pay off some bills) and important experience. and when I start job searching again, be in a situation where I am willing and able to relocate to another part of the state or even a different state for a job.
and then, hopefully, settle down and stop this entire job hopping ordeal!
so wish me luck!
