so I had my interview today at Rush-Henrietta. hmmm, some things that seem kind of odd to me:
1. they said they screened 185 or so applicants...now, doing some math....
-there are three, yes, THREE schools in the Rochester area that have a school counseling program, with no more than 20 students in each program....
-throw in any school within a 100 mile radius, you might be up to 7 schools.
-a classmate once said that about 55 or so school counselors graduate each year
so yeah, that seems odd.
2. during the interview, the one person said how she was spending all day at a different campus tomorrow...but she's interviewing tomorrow as well?
3. I was told there were 10 to 12 people brought in for the first round of interviews....and since I saw no one, that makes me wonder as well!
oh well.....here's their time line:
interviews Tuesday and Wednesday.
decide on about 2 candidates to bring back
interviews next week with more people.
choose one of the 2 to bring to the Superintendent as a candidate to hire.
so here's hoping.....after all, it is the most diverse district in the County! and I feel kind of good when, after I ask the question "What are you looking for in a counselor?", the interviewers respond back with some things I highlighted in my interview!
so keep your fingers crossed!
