What do you do when someone gives you their recently released CD and it's not that good? I mean, in it's own right there's nothing wrong with it. I probably would have totally dug it ten years ago, fuck, even five years ago. Damn you mind for opening up and realizing how terrible guitar pop music is. It's such sugary cliched crap. Fuck. Why am I listening to this? What the hell am I going to say to this dude? He's really nice and is always a total sweetheart to me. What's the right thing to say? These guys have gone and created something I couldn't. In it's own arena it's a decent enough achievement. But, fuck me.. What whiney top forty aiming shit.
It's predictable. Every part about it is predictable. As a matter of fact, I think I've heard this record before. It's been the background music of every car trip with my parents, or in the car and dorm of every girl I knew in high school. I can't fucking take it. Shoot me. I wish them the best though. At least I know where these bands come from now. I wonder if they have delusions of artistic credibility?
