I agree, while it's tricky knowing what the real boundaries of a client-therapist relationship are, it does seem pretty guru-like and unrealistic. And if you can't see the need to do this apart from her telling you to, which it sounds like you don't, I'd say leave the therapist.
What's the point of a therapist telling a client to make major changes they're not going to agree with? It's never going to happen. Seems she must not be very experienced or insightful, and you definitely don't want to put yourself in the hands of someone like that.
