2 days til my 29th birthday. brett's mom came by yesterday to drop off finn's birthday gifts (his is next week, the 12th) and christmas gifts that finally arrived at her house. she also gave me a card with a gift card to target in it. i really appreciate the birthday gift. however, it will be used for the kids, not me. i can't justify spending money on myself even though i would love to. i'd just end up wandering the store picking up things and putting them back again out of guilt. in the end, i'd be miserable.. so i'm just going to go with the intention of using it all on them.

it would be nice if brett thought to do something for me, but we'll just have to see on wednesday. at least yesterday was a fairly good day. he helped clean (after i hounded him) and he showed me that he cared. we argued early on cause he was in a bad mood and i was sick of getting snapped at, but after, everything was great.

now i'm going to taste the first batch of freshly brewed ginger ale we started on new year's day.
