I'm loving Mad Men right now because it's still perfect. I'm cynical enough to know that given the success of the show...the following seasons will fall prey to the Execs will murder it...most likely towards the end of season two. They're get nervous...add Celebrity cameos...start having more of the already-established character sleep with each other...to "stir things up". Mark my words...before this series wraps up...Don will sleep with Joan.

I know this...because I have watched every show I ever loved...torn apart at the seams by its own success. Rescue Me did it too. Tommy Stopped drinking....stopped hallucinating, Jimmy gets all but written out of the show. They kill off Tommy's Son, have his ex sleep with his brother, then kill off his brother...then kill off hsi father....Gina Gershon shows up......Fucking FRANCO falls for Susan Sarandon?! I don't think so.

The Probie turns gay......Garrity goes Homer Simpson and gets stupider with each episode.

They kill off Chief Reilly...and replace him with Chief Feinberg...and the completely useless, wooden Needles Nelson......

I still like Rescue Me....but they got away from what made the show great.
