So I finally saw Watchmen (well, it was actually a week ago). My only problem with the movie was the fact that I finished reading the book about 3 hours before I saw the movies. So all the differences between the movie and the book were super-obvious and stood out like crazy, it was quite distracting. I really should have given myself more time than 3 hours smile Despite that, I did like the movie, and I hope to see it again in a couple weeks or so.

And I would agree that reading the book first does help your enjoyment of the movie, sometime even the little things that have no bearing at all on the plot...like after rescuing all those people from the burning building, you see Laurie putting the coffee cups away biggrin

Yeah, a friend had already told me that there was no octupus at the end of the movie. I guess they figured the general public would find Dr. Manhattan being the "common enemy" more believable than aliens.

It's funny though, the (movie) ending is alot like The Dark Knight, in the sense that Dr. Manhattan is willing to take the blame for the good of mankind, just like Batman took the blame for Dent's murders in order to keep the people's hope alive that they can win against crime.

Oh, and thanks for the advice about #1 smile

it was epic. fucking great. all the actors were good i think too. the rorschach actor was the best. i am not sure people who havent read the book would like it so much though. but, i fucking loved it. the only thing i wish was better was that lori's tits were bigger. i am going to see it again today or tomorrow. smile

Daddy Drinks: Rum and Coke

"First of all, belligerent frat boys may insist that this drink is properly called a "Captain" and Coke. They are mistaken. If you've never tasted a sample of Sailor Jerry's Spiced Navy Rum, then you don't know what you're missing. Time to graduate to a real rum.

Sailor Jerry is an authentic Caribbean-style spiced rum with a 96 proof kick...

I just took one minute to lend my voice to peace, and I'm asking you to join me.

After 22 years of war, peace is now possible in northern Uganda. Ongoing negotiations between the Ugandan Government and rebel Lord's Resistance Army represent the best chance ever to bring an end to this brutal war.

But there's a chance that this opportunity might slip through...

Hmmm... I'm not sure if I'd describe myself as horribly anti-social in real life, but I'm definitely a loner... I've found that very few people want to talk about anything that goes beyond surface level, so most of the time I just don't bother. Most people go through life with blinders on anyway, and it's pretty sad if you ask me.

As far as SG and the internet... I guess I'm a little more social here because let's face it... I will probably never see half the people I talk to here, and most of them don't really care about me anyway, so it's no big loss. That being said... I have met some very good friends here on SG who have become friends in real life, and even those I don't live so close to, I can still talk with on the phone.

I tend to post a lot on the boards and in the groups out of sheer boredom. Life isn't all that exciting right now because all I'm doing is waiting for my clients to pay me so I can get back to Chicago. So yeah... I spend far too much time sitting in front of the computer, and the time I don't spend on the computer is spent at AA meetings... Meetings can actually be pretty entertaining sometimes because drunks have a way of creating a lot of drama. I was sober for 4 years at one point, so I've been to enough of them to know what to expect. I just sit back, enjoy the show, and hope someone brought popcorn biggrin

Yes I know.... Such an interesting life I have...
