i love it when it rains like this. it's so beautiful and gentle. it's made the weather kinda cold and i'm craving soup. so i'm making broth with noodles. didn't really have anything else to throw in and i wanted something quick. i'm trying to decide what movie to watch. it's just a movie-watching kind of day. it makes me all sleepy and i want...

actually I have found that most of the books that they have at like Home Depot and other assorted home improvementy type places are usually pretty easy to follow. You just have to be confident and jump right in there. If it ever gets to be to much...you always know where the phone book is for the plumber. That's my theory at least, but I am all about doing home improvement type stuff. Many hours of my childhood were spent helping my dad with one project or another. Much luck.
dollbabyamy:
There's a home fix it book out by the people that make the "for dummies" series of books. I have a couple "cooking for dummies", "tarot for dummies", "power yoga for dummies" and if the home improvement one is as easy to use as those three, you'll be in business. I'm thinking of picking it up myself, as some things around our place need some adjusting. smile

You know, you can cut the butterfly bush back some if it gets too big. Up here we cut ours back almost to the ground every year.

You don't have to, but if it starts to crowd things out....

Happy Hump Day! smile

i feel like i'm always looking at my life through other people's eyes. if i just stay inside myself, i'm happy. i'm 24 and i own my own condo and car. i'm trying to get my writing career started. i'm about to be working in a bookstore. i live with my love and my cat finally gets to be inside and i have gerbilies and...

Remember, it only matters if you let it. Sounds like this may have bothered/hurt for a while. Sounds like you are letting go. Sounds like the right thing. smile And, it sounds like things are going well! Enjoy life! biggrin ARRR!!! biggrin
nyssa:
Hello... I saw your post in the gardeners group and came over to say hi!

HI.

I have two uncles (and their families) and a pair of grandparents that live in (or around) Atlanta. So, hi, again, person who lives 'near' my family.

And your birthday is four days (and three years) after mine! Hello again, fellow Christmas-time birthday person!

I was reading your update, and thought, wow, she's worried about what her family thinks about her when she owns her condo, has a job, is working on a writing career, and seems to be fairly well aware of what she wants and is working to get it. From that description, your family should be damn proud of you.

I'm sorry to hear that your father and his family aren't making an effort to be active in your life. It sounds like he's missing out on a really cool person.

So, back to the plants, do you grow anything at your condo? We lived in apartments for about seven years, and I was always growing things in containers on my various porches, windowstills, etc. At our last place (we recently bought a house and I'm still working on figuring out the yard) I was growing about 3-5 kinds of tomatoes in containers on my balcony.

Have a great weekend! smile

today i got a new job that i will start in junne. i'm excited and sad because i'll be leaving my little family at my current job. but i also hate my current job, so i know i have to go. i guess i can still visit sometimes.

i also made a clover chain.

love kiss

I know exactly how you feel except without the new job part and the clover chain part. Change is a good thing...it implies movement and I'm coming to realize that's what life is all about. Conga rats.
dollbabyamy:
Congratulations on the new job! What will you be doing?

happy easter! we have lots of candy. my mom snuck in this morning to leave us an easter basket and it was like the easter bunny had come for a visit. i didn't find out until tonight that it was her. it's raining like crazy here. i love the rain. and my kitty slept on our pillows last night. she's so cute!

the cat no doubt fears the easter bunny and slept on your pillow for protection. ...sounds like so much fun.

i'm working on a new painting (technically an old one that i didn't like and have now attached to a new canvas) still not entirely sure what i'm going to do with it. either leave it as it is now or add more as i had planned. i'm starting to like it now.

i'll be wine pouring at an art show in a few weeks....

I'm kind of sick of the snow. I loved it until I had to shovel it. It's slowly melting now. It rained today so now the roads are slush.

Enjoy your day off! biggrin get into lots of trouble and drink lots of coffee! .... yummmm.....

the snow should come back smile

my printer is broken. which for a writer, is not such a great thing. the tech support number is long distance (which i don't have) and they apparently don't check their email. so that means i probably get to go buy a new printer at some point. yay.

working too much. finally have the day off. i might just drink wine and write all day....

Sorry to hear about your printer.
So you already have 6 cats.... hmmm... then you have to find a gal with no cats. That's easier than finding one with three I suppose. miao!!
ravgonfly:
I feel leaving the house is highly overrated at times. Usually whenever it's my day off I just stay home and do all the stuff I never get to do when I am working cause change and sleep in my room and that's about it.

Printers are one of the most finicky pieces of machinery. I'd say get yourself a phone card before you go out and just buy a new one.

Happy writing and drinking! *raises glass*
