i've discovered a new means for driving an individual completely and utterly insane, and it's startlingly easy.
1) buy them FFXI
2) set them up with a fishing rod and some bait
3) wait about half an hour
4) enjoy the shrieks of complete and utter frustration that burst forth from the lost soul that is now trapped in a hideous netherworld of pain and suffering. glory in the fact that they will never catch a single fish, though they will certainly be doomed to an eternity of attempting to. the milky coating of pain that glazes their eyes is your grim reward.
so, it's official: i love FFXI but i totally fucking hate the fishing system. i haven't caught a single fish. not one. none. apparently if you're a total loser you can catch some kelp... i haven't been able to manage even that. hatehatehate.
on a non-final-fantasy-fishing related note, i think i'm going to go shower and eat for the first time today. odds are i'll think about fishing the whole time...
