I watched House of 1000 Corpses last night. I heard it wasn't all that great of a film, so I set my expectations accordingly. I'm pleased to report that I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of that film. Sure, it had it's moments where the story could have been improved. I would have liked to see a little more character development because I didn't find myself caring too much about the plight of the wary travelers as much as I could.
But hell, there was some great acting! Sid Haig (Captain Spalding) put on an incredible performance. So much so that I immediately ran to my computer to look him up on IMDB to see what else he had been in. Apparently he hadn't had much work in the years preceding the film and his career is enjoying a strong revival since then.
I'm totally stoked to watch Devil's Rejects now!
